School Improvement for SEND
The SEND Review
Our SEND Review supports schools to raise standards for children with SEND through a bespoke package of support. The review helps schools to identify areas for improvement within their SEND provision, equip those supporting school improvement to review and create improvement plans for SEND provision, and help embed a focus on SEND into school improvement practices.
Working with experienced practitioners, we offer a SEND Review, similar in scope to the existing Pupil Premium Review, and deploy practitioners to schools across the UK to offer support and advice.
We deploy a dedicated SEND leader to work with schools to identify strengths and areas of development across eight key areas:
Outcomes for pupils with SEND
Leadership of SEND
The Quality of Teaching and Learning for Pupils with SEND
Working with Pupils and Parents/Carers of Pupils with SEND
Assessment and Identification
Monitoring, Tracking and Evaluation
The Efficient Use of Resources
The Quality of SEND Provision
During the school visit, the reviewer will meet with a variety of stakeholders including: the Headteacher, the senior leader for SEND, classroom teachers, TAs and pupils. The reviewer may also find it helpful to gather evidence in a variety of ways, including: lesson observations, learning walks, book looks and by observing intervention sessions for pupils with SEND. This can be discussed with the reviewer prior to the day.
After a one-day review, the SEND leader will produce a written report for the school summarising the strengths of the school and outlining areas for development.
The cost of the SEND Review is £1,200 (+VAT and expenses). To find out more or to commission a SEND Review, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
