Offering direct support to parents through access to agencies and advice.

Increased parent’s confidence in their ability to support their child’s learning.
Forums have helped cement belief that the school is providing a welcoming, positive and responsive learning environment.
A SEND offer that reflects parents given influence on decision making.
Examples of practice
A parent forum on mental health and wellbeing which involved educational psychology service, clinical psychologists, ELSA, parents of pupils with difficulties, parents who work in mental health services. LAC parents led part of the agenda. Parents accessed services and support.
A parent forum on autism with the Autism outreach and the autistic society.
A good use of resources as lots of parents are supported at once. Parents with expertise in autism worked alongside school and agencies to produce an autism offer and autism friendly guidelines. A support group was initiated.
