IPSEA is a national charity providing free legally based advice to families who have children with special educational needs (SEN) and / or a disability (D). IPSEA's trained volunteers provide free advice and support via our Advice Line and Tribunal Helpline. You can also get help by looking at our website resources on common problems, taking action, exclusion, transport, refusal to assess and more or via our email-based Information Service.
Information service : An online formsubmission with detailed email advice regarding your problem and next step advice where appropriate. This service aims to provide a quick response clarifying the legal position and signposting of how to progress your own case to the next stage.
General Advice Line : 0800 018 4016 Advice on: Problems with schools; requesting statutory assessment; proposed statements; annual reviews; disability discrimination; exclusion, etc. You can also book an appointment for an adviser to call you at a time that suits you (subject to availability).
Tribunal Help Line : 0845 602 9579 Next-step advice on SEN appeals and disability discrimination claims to the Special Educational Needs and Disability Tribunal. Training: IPSEA provides bespoke training and e-learning to school staff, Parent Forums, Support Groups, Local Authority SEN teams, Parent Partnership Schemes, School Governors and other groups / organisations.
