This year we are celebrating Assistive Technology (AT) in the South and North of England as we hold two Communication Works events. A key event to learn about the use of innovative technology to enable new independence in learning and communicating and assist with identifying the technology that can best suit the individual needs of our students. All part of the aims for the Governments EdTech Strategy in levelling the playing field for people with special educational needs and disabilities.
Ace Centre is delighted to be partnering with CENMAC this year to host Communication Works 2020. Building on the success of the annual event that is hosted at Charlton Park School, Ace Centre is working with New Bridge School in Oldham to offer this event for the first time in the North of England. Both events are being delivered in partnership with the DfE in celebration the Edech Strategy, Realising the potential of technology in education.
Leadership conference for those within the hospital education sector. Over 2 days, colleagues from settings across the country will meet to discuss key areas and to share ideas and best practice. These conferences are popular to meet colleagues from similar settings and to form new networks for future work. Subjects discussed include curriculum, data benchmarking, funding and school improvement.
The theme of the conference will be Closing the Research to Practice Gap. We will explore new perspectives on how to translate academic enquiry into practical, workable strategies with which educators can support the lives of children and young people living with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
