Read and Think Series
These three books encourage poor readers, especially older pupils, to read sentences and simple texts and understand what they read. Pupils must understand the sentences/texts they read in order to perform the tasks and this ensures text comprehension. Each book includes variety of tasks which appeal to a range of pupils, including older, poor readers. Pupils are encouraged to deduce, infer, and interpret information and events. Vocabulary is limited to high-frequency words and the emphasis on reading: very little writing is required.
