The Child Brain Injury Trust are pleased to announce our new look Annual Event for 2018 - our usual Conference on 6th March 2018, combined with a Legal Seminar and Networking evening on 5th March 2018.
The online SI Module 2 course, accredited by Ulster University, is the second part of the modular pathway which also offers the opportunity to work towards a Postgraduate Diploma or Masters in Sensory Integration. This course is for Occupational Therapists, Speech & Language Therapists and Physiotherapists only.
Award winning Positive Looking 1 focuses on motor visual skills which during this one day course is explained through a practical resource rich presentation to support the practitioner’s understanding of each visual skill. E.g: Visual Awareness, Visual Attention, Fixation, Tracking, Transferring Gaze, etc. The course explores practical ideas and activities to support the practitioner in planning targeted interventions and explains observation points to help understand the child's responses.
Foundation part of AVUK's in-depth training package - via distance This foundation course is designed to equip you with the practical skills needed to accelerate spoken language development through listening in pre-school aged children with hearing loss and their families. Using a combination of self-study, shared video and live and pre-recorded webinars we are able to deliver the course content to students worldwide via our online classroom.
This is a 2 day workshop. This section will delve into the confusing and challenging behaviors that children & adults often demonstrate; addressing the question Is it sensory or is it behaviour? This course is designed for therapists, however, parents, teachers, carers, social workers, psychologists & other professionals have found the material very valuable. This course is open to occupational, physical and speech therapists, psychologists, other professionals and parents.
This 2 classroom day course explores different types of feeding difficulties related to sensory issues. This course is open to therapists.

Set within the framework of the Early Years Foundation Stage, the course will offer a practical workshop to develop knowledge and understanding of the implications of vision impairment on the child’s learning and development. The emphasis is to develop practical skills and approaches which can be applied by the practitioner within their setting and the child they are working with.
This course will provide an introduction to sensory integration difficulties including autism. This course is open to all.
This one day workshop will provide a basic introduction to managing the delivery of the curriculum, presented in braille format, to a child with vision impairment. The practical focus will equip the practitioner with the necessary strategies to support the child who uses braille as their medium of communication.
