The SPTO is a whole school tracker. I use it as a SENCO to manage and track provision that is being delivered to pupils in school. It gives you a whole picture of a child on one screen.

Pupils are taught algorithms as part of the KS2 and KS3 NC Computing curriculum. We currently teach using BeeBots and Flowol. We have now purchased Dash robots and tablets for the software. We have extended the SoW to include planning, writing and testing an algorithm designed to provide acts of kindness and offer them strategies to manage their anxiety.

On our school website we have our ‘Local Offer’ for parents to access and read. I was very aware for some of our parents there was far too much information on this document. I have created a parents leaflet that summarises our local offer and makes it more accessible to all parents. This was shared at the most recent Coffee Morning and encouraged parents to look on our website if they wanted to look at the more in-depth version.

A video to support practitioners working with children and young people with how to raise initial concerns about a child or young person’s speech, language and communication development with their parents. The video is intended to be used as a professional development resource, to enhance confidence and skills in talking with parents about their child’s speech, language and communication development and skills.

2x ½ days for vulnerable/anxious pupils that focus on self-esteem/resilience/treasure hunt. Do a “worry postcard” which his introduced to the key worker. Also, a speed dating style day meeting all primary SENCO to have overview of pupils who have been accepted into year 7. Allows to forward plan.

Leading CPD sessions re. Code of Practice for staff to access to close the gap in knowledge/awareness of statutory requirements in class. Appointment of Department SENCo to assist with leadership of SEND provision across the school.

Examples of SEND case study and blank proforma. The case study template is precise and compact and recently positively received By OFSTED. The reason the practice came about was in conjunction with Liverpool Authority SEND team and included as good practice in local learning network. It would be useful for SENCOs and SEN governors also useful for all monitoring and impact reports.

The Youth Justice SEND Project brings together Achievement for All (AfA), the Association of Youth Offending Team Managers (AYM) and Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU) to form a powerful partnership to transform outcomes for young people who offend, or are at risk of doing so, and who have special educational needs, through supporting professionals to bring about a culture and behaviour change around effective SEND joint working.

This project was developed to raise the aspirations of our pupils but it doesn’t tell the whole story about our collaborative approach to improving children’s lives. Over the past six years we have developed valued partnerships both within, and outside education; these show that collaboration is at the heart of everything we do.
