Childnet STAR Toolkit
Since inception in 1995, Childnet’s mission has been to make the internet a great and safe place for children.
We aim to give children age 3-19 the skills to stay safe online, and to empower their parents, teachers and others working with them to have confidence and knowledge to prevent and respond to online risks such as cyberbullying, sexual exploitation and exposure to inappropriate content such as pornographic or pro-anorexia websites.
At the heart of all our work is the belief that when used properly the internet is a wonderfully positive tool for children and young people. We strive to take a balanced approach, making sure that we promote the positive opportunities, as well as responding to the risks and equipping children and young people to deal with them.
