Axcis Education is the foremost specialist supplier of quality special educational needs and disability (SEND) staffing solutions in the UK. Our commitment to working with government and professional partners plus our duty of care, ensures that, despite wide ranging changes in education, we can have a positive effect on the lives of the young people with SEND we ultimately support. We appreciate these young people are some of the most vulnerable in our education system and require inclusive nurture to allow them to achieve to the very best of their ability.
What separates us from other education recruitment specialists?
The company was established in 2001 and we are the only company focused wholly on SEND. Jean Wilson, the Managing Director, came on board soon after its inception, bringing with her a wealth of knowledge and experience of teaching and senior leadership spanning fifteen years in a wide variety of schools. Jean understands the importance of placing appropriately qualified, trained professionals in schools, and the effect that has on outcomes for a young person’s learning and development. Our growth continues to be an exciting journey which started in London and now includes offices in Liverpool, Bristol, Birmingham, South Wales, Essex and Sheffield.
Our relationship with our clients is of paramount importance to us and we pride ourselves on working closely to build long-term partnerships. Our reputation is upheld by the quality of candidate placements we manage. Every candidate undergoes in-depth vetting procedures to ensure that DfE safeguarding requirements are met. At Axcis, we only recruit staff with the expertise to work with young people with SEND. Our continuous professional development package is open to all candidates or client school staff. We facilitate a variety of courses over the academic year, including: Team Teach, Makaton and PECS, Level 2 Safeguarding, Moving and Handling, Autism Awareness, teacher and support staff induction plus Managing Challenging Behaviour.
Our range of placement varies from senior leaders, teachers, support staff, Education Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists and School Nurses for special schools and SEND departments in mainstream schools. We recruit for daily, long term and permanent placements.
We believe that a company working in education has a moral responsibility to the sector, and as part of that we are a corporate sponsor of The National Autistic Society (NAS) and headline sponsor of the 2016 Professional Conference and Autism Professionals Awards. We work closely with the NAS and other professional bodies such as Nasen, the National Association of Independent Schools and Non-Maintained Special Schools (NASS), and Specialist Schools and Academies Trust (SSAT).
Our vision for the future of Axcis includes the development of our relationship with our key stakeholders, clients and candidates, further thought leadership and innovation in the SEND sector and the upholding of our core value as a company – “too do well, we must do good”.
